Woodstock Co-Creator Defends Jay-Z, Chance The Rapper "Too Modern" Line-Up

March 26, 2019

After fans of the legendary festival complained that the line-up for Woodstock Festival's 50th Anniversary was "too modern," TMZ caught up with co-creator Michael Lang to discuss the decision.

"This is not 'Old-chella' or 'Desert Trip.' This is really a Contemporary Woodstock for today. The reason for it is really based around the social issues that we're dealing with -- about sustainability and about activism -- and about trying to resteer where the world seems to be heading."
