NoN Profit in Sacramento providing opportunities for youth

through music "Dept of Sound" Get to know this powerful non-profit

Mia Amor had the opportunity to talk to founder of Dept. of Sound "John Hamilton"  a local non-profit organization focused to educating our youth through music

  Dept. of Sounda Sacramento-based music non-profit is offering students and parents access to its entire music production and podcasting program online for FREE this summer. They were recently featured in Billboard's latest on the rise of virtual music education. Thanks to technology partnership with Soundtrap, A Spotify Company, they are able to adapt their in-person after school program and offer the entire series online for all students 13 and older worldwide who are interested and looking for thoughtful and creative education this summer. 

Summer of Sound, available starting June 22nd and running the entire summer. Summer of Sound is a self-paced program that students can finish anytime throughout the summer (up until September 22).  Through the use of online webinars, pre-recorded lessons, students will learn the essentials of beat making, song structure & composition, audio recording, instrumentation & arrangement, podcast production, the music business, and more.
