Sacramento Loses A Voice Of The Hip Hop Community

Rest In Paradise to King Kahali aka Doey Rock: See his NEW video that just dropped and find out details about his tribute.

June 15, 2020
RIP Doey Rock

There are quite a few names people associate with the music scene here in Sacramento, which is a beautiful thing. But one name that definitely has been repeated over the years has been Doey Rock. Sadly, he passed away over the weekend. Of course, he has been most recently known as King Kahali, but people that are So Sac Wid It know Doey Rock.

The only details that I want to share really are in tribute.

First of all, he literally just dropped a new song and video – “Black Gold”; which you can see below. And we are proud to feature this song in the 9 O’clock Knock tonight.

But also, we can’t lose someone that connected to the city and not come together for respect. There will be a caravan and candlelight vigil for him this Wednesday, June 17th (details included in the post below).

And I also wanted to include some of the shout outs and messages from people, including our very own DJ Oasis.

We lost one, Sacramento. RIP.

Maaaaaan I couldnt wait til Sunday! Let the games began. This joint is off the new project “The Dangerous One” now streaming everywhere. Nothin to crazy just a taste of whats to come visually from me and @itsallmook visually - but yeah man lets go.... This knocked the wind out of me when I heard the news, Doey Rock was one of the first dude’s in the industry that took me under his wing when I was barely old enough to get into the clubs & showed me the ropes of this industry, life, business relationships & everything in between! We had a short falling out but glad we got to connect at Harlows a few years back and I told you I would come down from The club & catch your set & I did! We had a shot after and joked about how many black supermans & long islands you would drink at the corner of the bar at Distillery! If I never got a chance to tell you, thanks for everything you did for me & this city! #RIPDoeyRock #sosacwitit #BringBackDouble

MAN DAMN RIP #DOEYROCK @kingkahali was blessed to work with my bro in my early years of producing and @bigsandbangs_ the Rhythm Section Ent. band shared the stage with him a few times! #Sacramento just lost a huge talent and an artist who truly rep'd our city! Rest in peace to one of Sacramento's Hip Hop Pioneers! #CREEKMOB #KingKahali #DoeyRock #HipHop #916 #RestInPeace------
