New Law letting California Middle & High School students Sleep in!

October 14, 2019

Okay...High School me is VERY pissed off right now because it looks like California Middle and High School students will be able to get some extra zzz's as Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill pushing middle school start times to 8am or later, and high school classes to 8:30a or later!   Now, don't get too excited current students, as this will not kick in until at least July of 2022.

This comes following many health organizations including American Academy of Pediatrics and American Medical Association saying more sleep is needed for our youth, with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine saying children from 6-12 years old need to sleep 9-12 hours a night, and teenagers need 8-10 hours.
