20 Percent jump in sexual-assault hotline calls after airing of 'Surviving R Kelly"

Pretty much everyone has been talking about the Lifetime docuseries "Surviving R. Kelly"  It seems that not only did the show give a voice to the woman who accused R Kelly of various crimes such as pedophelia and physical assault, but also to women around the world as one of the leading sexual assault hotlines in the country, the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) had a 20% increase in calls than the week before.  

According to the networks president, Scott Berkowitz, many of the calls were regarding childhood abuse and that often following major news events, like the Surviving R Kelly series, they see an increase in calls.
