While many Sacramentans are looking to leave town and escape the heat this weekend, Lake Tahoe residents are speaking up over the recent surge of tourism in their city.

The Sacramento Bee reported that a Facebook post went viral asking for people to share their photos and stories of trash around the city. The rallies were also organized on the same page.

They are reportedly taking place today at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. in Truckee, Tahoe City, Meyers, Incline Village and Kings Beach according to the Sacramento Bee.

Some residents are concerned about the spread of the Coronavirus and tourists trashing their city.
