Spinderella Suing Salt-N-Pepa

The former bandmate is suing over hundreds of thousands in unpaid fees

July 12, 2019

Oooo babyyy babyyy ... let's spill some tea.

Spinderella, the former DJ of the female rap group Salt-N-Pepa is suing her groupmates.

According to TMZ, Spinderella was allegedly cheated out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid fees for albums, tv appearances and performances.

One of the most notable deals includes the groups' 1999 'Best of' album where Spinderella claims she did not receive the $125,000 she was promised.

The DJ also claims she was promised a third of the revenue for the groups' TV show with VH1, but she didn't receive as much air time or the profit that was negotiated.

Spindella even claims she wasn't paid for the performance below!

The fire may have been sparked when Spinderella received a termination letter from the group earlier this year.

Spinderella was given the boot when Salt-N-Pepa announced they were going on tour with the New Kids On The Block.

Although the other group members did not address the split, Spinderella took to Instagram to share her side of the story.

She explained she helped promote the show and was still being featured in promotional announcements.

“I'm deeply saddened to share with all the #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella fans that I will not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour. Despite my participation in promoting the tour and being highly publicized as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘termination’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performances with the group. It was my expectation, after making that decision, that they would also take responsibility for sharing the news with the public and other affected parties. It has been months now with no mention. Out of love for my fans and a commitment to upholding a standard of professionalism, I've taken it upon myself to let everyone know. I refuse to participate in misleading fans, ticketholders, and others who -- based on all the advertising -- were anticipating seeing the iconic #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella trio. So, I'm making it clear now. Please know you will have the opportunity to see me this summer in many other projects and activities I'll be participating in and I look forward to seeing you all then.” Thank you, Spinderella --

To top it off Spinderella learned from SoundExchange that Salt-N-Pepa had received nearly 600 thousand dollars in royalties in the past decade while her pockets were left dry!
