The commuter life around Sacramento can get pretty ugly, especially during rush hour traffic.

The Sacramento Bee recently shared that commuters around the Sacramento area are losing 59 hours a year sitting in traffic!

This finding helped the capitol city earn the title of 22nd worst city for commuter delays in the country according to the Texas A&M Traffic Institute. The numbers reported were taken from traffic records in 2017, and that number is expected to creep up to 70 hours a year in 2030.

Sometimes I miss living in #California, but then I visit & the traffic reminds me I really don't miss living here. #sacramento #sacramentotraffic #highway50

I'm a commuter myself and I hop on the 99 daily! Personally I don't mind hanging out for an hour or two in order to wait out the traffic jam. The times you want to avoid are between 3 and 5 p.m.

The Sacramento Bee also reported to avoid traffic on weekends between noon and 2 p.m.

Hope this helps you for your next drive around the 916. Make sure to tune in to KSFM to keep you entertained while you're pumping the brakes!
