In an effort to provide more recreational activities, especially for children, the California Department of Public Health is allowing for parks and playgrounds to reopen.

The decision applies to all counties regardless of their tier status according to the Los Angeles Times.

Here are the modifications following the reopening of parks and playgrounds:

  • Children and visitors two years or older are asked to wear face masks
  • Different households are to maintain 6 feet of distance

Local government and facility operators will determine visitation hours.

This does not include reopening for indoor playgrounds that are to remain closed under tier 1 and 2.
