Local Rapper, YuhhBoyE, Starts Campaign for Stroke Awareness

Bianca V's Breakdown : Ep. 5

August 19, 2019

Local Rapper, Earl Jr. Scales, who goes by YuhhBoyE is doing his part to raise awareness for stroke prevention.

The cause is close to his heart since his father suffered a stroke earlier this summer. Now Scales is focusing his energy on lifting his father’s spirits while raising awareness for the medical emergency.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. It also emphasizes the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of a stroke and acting immediately, “With timely treatment, the risk of death and disability from stroke can be lowered.”

Scales came up with his own acronym by using his father’s name, EARL. He hopes it will help people remember the warning signs they should look for regarding a stroke.

He’s also going to be throwing an event in Napa on August 23 to help launch his campaign and continue informing others.
