NBC Bay Area reported the California DMV has extended the deadline for licenses that expire between March and May 2020

Drivers under the age of 70 will receive an automatic extension up to May 31, 2020. The agency has already notified law enforcement officials of the new policy.

However, the DMV is encouraging people to print out a free temporary extension card on their website. The card could come in handy in situations where you need an ID, say buying wine at the grocery store!
