The MTV Video Music Awards have long used the Moonman as their trophy, with the shape essentially a recreation of the iconic MTV logo and commercial that ran at the network’s inception. Like the Academy Award or the Emmy or the Grammy, the statue itself is a symbol that time and trends don’t shift. That is, until this year.

MTV has decided to give their award a new look for its 2015 ceremony, via designer Jeremy Scott. The Moonman will still be the shape of an astronaut with an MTV flag, but now will be multi-colored rather than just silver. The flag will be the color of the traditional TV test pattern as a nod to the iconic image of what TVs would display in the middle of the night. The astronaut will also display a large necklace with the peace sign wrapped around its neck.

MTV has released a teaser clip displaying the new statue, with host Miley Cyrus waving the statues around in lieu of her middle finger. Watch people win the new Moonman on August 30.
