However recent updates from Samsung indicate that this figure might have been overstated.According to Lee Young-Hee Samsungs mobile marketing head the companys sales have been quite aggressive particularly its sell-in. He was quoted to say that this figure was about 2 million units so far. The sell-out figure or the actual sales to consumers is a different matter altogether. This means that Samsung has sold more than 2 million units to its dealers and distributors but off-the-shelf sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab might not necessarily reach that figure given units that are still on stock .Even then Samsung is optimistic about the retail sales of the Galaxy Tab.

………………………………………..Despite denials and contrary rumors it seems that Apple is on schedule to release a new version of the wildly successful just about a year after it of the tablet………Some Taiwan-based component suppliers to Apple revealed today that theyre expecting to start shipments for the iPad at the beginning of next year according to DigiTimes a trade publication based on that island nation. That shipping schedule indicates that Apple plans to stick to its normal product refresh cycle and announce a new iPad at the end of next years first quarter……The that four iPad suppliers–TPK Touch Solutions Wintek Cando and Chimel Innolux–were in the process of completing validation by Apple for ultra-thin glass-based touch panels. Those 9.7-inch panels may mean that the next version of the iPad will lose some girth in its next incarnation……Just a week ago a report based on a conversation with an Apple insider said that the company was considering releasing in time for the holidays a new version of the iPad with a video camera and support for its video-conferencing-over-WiFi software FaceTime.
